Children at the Meeting

SETAC recognises the demands faced by scientists navigating the balance between work–life commitments. As a result, children under the age of 18 will be allowed in all meeting areas. Please note, children must be under direct supervision of their parents/nannies at all times. Parents recognise that this is a professional meeting and that our exhibitors bring expensive and valuable equipment to the meeting, and parents are held responsible for any damages their children may cause. Please note that damages caused by children are not covered by the event insurance. SETAC reserves the right to ask parents/nannies to remove the child from the meeting.

All children need to be registered– contact Barbara Koelman to register them. Children that are not registered, and therefore will not have a badge, are not allowed to access any rooms, the exhibition hall, etc. C

0 – 4 years                  registration required – no costs

5 – 17 years                registration required – guest badge – 50€

There will be an onsite nursing room (Meeting Room 202) at the convention center. Please note that this room is not equipped. The room can be locked – you can have the key at the “exhibition desk” in the registration area.

You can bring your own nanny to the meeting to look after your child(ren). Nannies pay a fee of 50€ to enter the meeting and need to be registered in advance. They will receive a special badge. For your child the same rules as mentioned under “child care” are applicable. You can register your nanny by sending an e-mail to: barbara.koelman@setac.org

If you want to attend the meeting as a couple with a child you can pay for one registration and share this among the two of you. If you would like to do so, please send an e-mail to: barbara.koelman@setac.org

There is also a possibility of hiring a nanny in Helsinki. The Helsinki Convention Bureau has provided us with the following list of companies you can contact:
